 Flamenco Rosario, La Monarca

Saturday, April 14, 2018

070323 Flamenco Rosario Ayer y Hoy 20 23 28 1

The Monarch butterfly is the motivation for this work by renowned Flamenco choreographer, artist, and teacher, Rosario Ancer."The monarch butterfly's sleepy transformation from its caterpillar stage is akin to how I felt," she says, "when I began researching La Monarch and the Butterfly Effect. La Monarch, reflects on my continual motion, travelling between Mexico where I was born, Spain - the Mecca of Flamenco and Canada - my new home. Being a migrant between three homes reminded of the recurrent autumn autumn pilgrimage of the monarch butterflies between Canada and Mexico. "How do they do it?" It is not difficult to guess; it is connected to survival."
